How to get rid of dandruff and flaky scalp

Kako se riješiti peruti i ljuskanja kože vlasišta

In addition to being aesthetically unacceptable, dandruff can also be a very unpleasant phenomenon on the scalp, especially if it is accompanied by flaking of large pieces of skin and intense itching. Like many other skin conditions, it occurs as a result of the interaction of various factors. The cause can be genetics, stress, inadequate nutrition, lack of nutrients in the body, but also climatic conditions or the use of inappropriate hair products. How to finally fight dandruff and prevent flaking of the scalp, we bring below.

Seborrhea is the most common cause of dandruff and other problems

As we have already mentioned, dandruff can be caused by a number of factors, and we will now explain this. First of all, it is worth mentioning seborrheic dermatitis, or seborrhea. This is one of the most common skin conditions that manifests itself as redness and peeling on the scalp, face and other parts of the body. On the face, the areas around the edge of the scalp, on the eyebrows, even eyelashes, and around the nose, where sebum secretion is increased, are very often characteristically affected. Seborrhea is associated with the growth of the yeast Malassezia , which normally inhabits the skin, but under certain conditions it can "predominantly" in the microbiome, which then leads to dandruff, flaking, itching and irritation.

What is crucial in the case of seborrhea is to completely exclude any oil-based products from care and to use soothing products designed to regulate dandruff and sebum secretion. Neem anti-dandruff lotion is a good example as it contains piroctone olamine which helps relieve all these symptoms. Jujube extract helps balance the scalp, while glycerin and panthenol hydrate and nourish the skin. The lotion is used before washing the hair. It is applied to the dry scalp and then left to stand for several hours, followed by the usual hair washing.

As for washing, it is important to wash your hair often enough, as yeast feeds on oil. If that means washing every day, so be it – hair will not fall out because of too much washing, but because of infrequent washing, which causes clogged follicles (provided that there are no other factors causing hair loss or inadequate products are used). Nettle and Peppermint Shampoo or Natural Rosemary Lemon Shampoo will thoroughly cleanse the scalp and hair and provide much-needed refreshment.

What to do if your scalp is simply dry

On the other hand, the opposite situation also occurs, although it is becoming less common. It is possible for the scalp to be so dry that dry dandruff appears. Unlike dandruff caused by seborrhea, dry dandruff is much finer, almost powdery. Creamy shampoos such as Čičak shampoo can help in this case, as well as using oils to care for the scalp and hair.

The method of combining oils – especially for the scalp, especially for the length of the hair itself, nourishes the scalp, and restores softness, smoothness, elasticity and shine to the hair. In this case, for scalp care and stimulating hair growth, it is good to use Rosemary and Clove Oil , while for hair length care, Argan Macadamia Oil can be massaged into the hair.

From allergies and irritations to stress and diet

No less important, dandruff can also occur as a result of irritation of the scalp. Every skin is individual and can react to a certain ingredient, a certain concentration of that ingredient or even the entire formulation, even if this was not the case previously. That is why we say that the impact of cosmetics is always in interaction with the current condition and needs of the skin or hair. In addition, irritation can also be caused by unprotected exposure of the scalp to UV radiation, while dandruff (and other hair problems) can even be triggered by hormonal changes due to pregnancy and menopause or exposure to stress.

When the scalp needs a kind of "reset", it is good to reach for the simplest possible shampoo such as Natural Sensitive Shampoo without added fragrances. Sulfate-free shampoos such as Amla Shampoo are also suitable for daily washing of weakened hair, but it is certainly important to study the difference between classic shampoos and sulfate-free products. Ultimately, in the case of very persistent dandruff that resists all products in the routine, it is not a bad idea to have a treatment with a doctor, especially to check the state of vitamin and mineral reserves, and then supplement if necessary.
