Donation to the I'm 1 in 10 Association to raise awareness about endometriosis

Udruzi Ja sam 1 od 10 donacija za jačanje svijesti o endometriozi

With the upcoming March 1st and Endometriosis Awareness Day in Croatia, Olival donated €4,000 to the Association of Women Suffering from Endometriosis I am 1 out of 10. The funds will help the Association in its work during 2025, specifically in implementing the public health campaign "Yellow Rose Days". This donation is a continuation of cooperation and support, since in 2024 we donated 5% of the turnover generated in our webshop from March 8th to March 10th and also supported the Association's activities by donating products.

A silent, insidious and increasingly common disease

Around 90,000 women of reproductive age in Croatia suffer from endometriosis, and March is the month in which, by decision of the Croatian Parliament, awareness is raised about this chronic and serious disease that affects numerous aspects of life. Endometriosis is a complex disease that causes severe pain, fertility difficulties and significantly affects the psychophysical state. Although it affects a large number of women, awareness of the disease is still insufficient, diagnostics are often delayed for years, and sufferers often face a lack of understanding from the environment and the healthcare system.

Multi-level work aimed at experts and the public

The Association of Women with Endometriosis, Ja sam 1 od 10, stands out for its continuous contributions and efforts to improve the quality of life of women with this often neglected disease. One of the most important ways is through public health campaigns such as this one called "Days of Yellow Roses", which aims to raise awareness about endometriosis, educate the public and provide support to women who face its challenges every day. The campaign is organized to raise awareness about endometriosis and encourage the general public, medical professionals and institutions to better understand and support women with the disease. Through various activities, including educational campaigns, public lectures and media releases, the Association raises the voice about this disease and empowers women to take action for their health.

The President of the Association of Women Suffering from Endometriosis, Ms. Zorica Martić, points out: "Thanks to the donation from the Olival company, the Association, I am 1 out of 10, will be able to expand its activities to a larger number of cities in the Republic of Croatia where a public health campaign will be implemented, provide additional resources for education and organize events that will help disseminate key information about endometriosis. This support comes at the right time, because every initiative that contributes to earlier diagnosis and a better quality of life for women with the disease has invaluable value."

We want endometriosis to be talked about (as much as possible)

Awareness of neglected topics and socially vulnerable groups in society is an important part of our socially responsible activities. Over the past years, we have supported the education of students in shortage professions in the cosmetics industry with scholarships through the "Your Knowledge - Our Future" foundation.

In collaboration with dm, we financially supported the work of the RokOtok association, which focuses on biodiversity conservation and education of children and youth. For two years in a row, through the campaigns "#Čistodaznaš" and "Prezimljavanje=prezivanje", we secured financial resources for the Croatian Network of the Homeless, and then held free public advisory actions.

Together with BIPA Croatia, the first campaign "Learn to live in all shades of pink" brought a multidisciplinary approach and top experts in the treatment of rosacea, while with the FOREVER YOUNG tour of Zagreb's neighborhoods, in collaboration with dm, we approached everyone interested in face and body care and protection, as well as individual dermatological and nutritional consultations.

A check for €4,000 was presented to the Association of Women Suffering from Endometriosis, I am 1 out of 10, by Sara Jerman, Head of Marketing and Brand Development, and on behalf of Olival, she wished the Association much success in its upcoming public health campaigns. More information about the Association's activities is available on the website .
