What keeps skin firm and elastic
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as building blocks for proteins such as collagen, elastin, and keratin. These proteins are the foundation of the skin and are responsible for its texture, strength, and resilience. When the skin starts to lack them, it loses some of that support, which can affect firmness, lead to wrinkles, change its texture, and reduce its "bounce". There are many combinations of peptides, each with its own role. Some target firmness, some smoothness, and others expression lines.
Peptides are suitable with (almost) everyone
The good news is that peptides fit easily into a routine. In the morning, they can be used before SPF, and in the evening with a night cream. They can be used preventatively, but also when wrinkles and fine lines are already visible. They are suitable for all ages, for both women and men, and can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
When combined with other active ingredients, peptides are exceptionally cooperative. They pair perfectly with retinoids, ectoin, and bakuchiol, and can also be paired with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide for extra hydration and an even complexion. It is only advisable to separate them from exfoliating acids (AHA and BHA) due to their lower pH. In that case, use the peptides in the morning and leave exfoliation for the evening routine.
What is behind the complicated names
The Multipeptide Serum xP brings together four types of peptides in one concentrated formula. Each has its own task, and together they work to make the skin look firmer, smoother, and more elastic, while making expression lines and fine lines less visible.
The names may sound like a laboratory formula, but here is what lies behind them:
• SYN®-TACKS CB (a complex of two dipeptides) helps strengthen the connection between the upper and deeper layers of the skin. It is associated with a smoother texture and a firmer skin appearance.
• Copper Tripeptide-1 is a copper peptide known for promoting skin renewal and regeneration.
• Acetyl Octapeptide-3 helps reduce the appearance of expression lines, especially on the forehead and around the eyes.
A light texture full of care
The gentle oil-free texture of the Light Peptide Cream xP goes hand in hand with the face serum. It nourishes fine lines, dehydration, and rough skin texture with the SYN®-TACKS CB peptide complex, ectoin is there for hydration, and glycerin protects the skin from drying out. It will suit normal to combination and dehydrated skin. If the skin prefers richer care with oils, Peptide Cream P is still the choice for dry, balanced to combination skin.
